a short Trip

This is how I start a painting. This is my rough sketch for “Midsummer Night’s Dream”. I did some thumbnail first, then this, then a detailed sketch, followed by my final work.

This is my detailed sketch, I did a bunch of research on Ghana looking for Anansi and other cultural touchstones, some I used some I tweaked. The plant is called a Dream Herb but is not found in Ghana (according to my research, which is not extensive. I’m an artist not a cultural anthropologist.) Then the finish, in watercolor.
